On trouve dans Star Ocean 3 un clin d'oeil fort sympathique à Valkyrie Profile (un autre jeu Tri-Ace). En effet, on a le plaisir d'affronter Lenneth et Freya en tant que boss cachés! La première se trouve à l'avant dernier niveau d'une tour de pas moins de 211 étages, tandis que Freya est tout simplement le boss ultime du jeu, l'être supreme impossible à tuer sans un brin d'équipement surboosté et un brin de stratégie. Si leur puissance est phénoménale (surtout Freya) leur design a été revu version SD (Super Deformed), ce qui a pour effet de titiller le joueur lorsqu'il a pris sa raclée face à 3 bouts de polygones ! Un clin d'oeil très sympa de la part de Tri-Ace, qui ne cesse de nous surprendre (dans le bon sens du terme).

PS : désolé pour la piètre qualité des images, mais j'ai essayé de les retoucher au mieux car elles étaient très petites à la base. Au moins on a un léger aperçu des deux boss !
Vous allez me dire : "mais à quoi cela sert-il donc de raser les murs pour obtenir le 100% d'exploration sur chaque carte ?" Vous obtiendrez un bunny scale à chaque finalisation de cartes. Ce bunny peut-être de trois types :
Sachant que les bonus de "+5% movement rate" ne sont pas cumulables et que le 1/1 vous divise par deux votre vitesse, on peut bien se demander à quoi servent ces bunny scale. La réponse est simple : à rien, si ce n'est a être vendu. En effet les 1/1 se vendent assez chers (dans les 80 000) ce qui peut-être intéressant pour augmenter son capital ! La meilleure technique est de garder un bunny scale 1/144 (celui qui se vend le moins cher) pour bénéficier du bonus de +5% de vitesse de mouvement et de vendre tous les autres. En complétant toutes les cartes à 100% vous aurez donc pas mal d'argent, et vous pourrez investir dans la création d'items (par exemple).
Voici la liste des objets que vous pourrez trouver dans la Sphère 211, qui peut être explorée à deux reprises dans l'aventure. Il y a pas mal d'autres objets à chaque étage, souvent des Synthetisis Materials, des joyaux ou des berries qui augmentent vos caractérisitiques, mais ils ne sont pas présents dans la liste pour ne pas trop l'alourdir.
